PRESS INFO -- This September weekend will see the 2,600 participants take part in the eight Dingle Full and Half Marathon. It is no surprise so that 2016 saw the event sell out nearly two months in advance. “We are thrilled to see the interest levels sky rocket in both the full and half marathon this year, with both races selling out for the first time ever” said Race Director Ken Dunne. The full marathon entry is up over 50% with the Half Marathon event at maximum capacity of 2,000 runners and walkers. “The reality is that we could easily have sold another thousand or so spaces, but we are adamant to restrict entry numbers to a workable level to ensure a really fantastic experience for everyone involved” said Ken Dunne. Dingle Marathon is truly an iconic international event at this stage and is set to continue to grow and grow. Organisers have already received numerous international requests to book space for the 2018 event, let alone 2017.
The half marathon leaves Dingle Town at 9am and heads off in the direction of Ventry to Slea head and finishes near Dunquin. The full marathon has all the half has to offer but much more continuing on from Dunquin, the spectacular scenery continues to keep the spirit alive.
